Rentcharges often go uncollected so when buying a property subject to a Rentcharge reaching for an Indemnity Policy folder or “taking a view” may have become a habit. This video will cover why continuing to do so may not be all that you need to do, why you need to look again at the remedies available to Rent Charge Owners and why you need to consider amending the rentcharge clauses used on newbuild developments.

David Keighley was admitted as a solicitor in 1982. Until his retirement from full time practice in September 2016 David was a partner in and Head of Residential property at Herrington Carmichael a Legal 500 Practice. Having done so part time whilst in practice, he now uses his extensive experience to offer practical guidance in lectures at property law conferences, seminars, webinars, training courses and related events.
