MODEST ASSET AND INCOME CASES
This lecture will consider the jurisprudence and useful practice points for modest asset and income financial remedy cases. The talk will focus on how to divide smaller capital pots to meet housing needs, managing soft and hard debts, when a PODE is not necessary and Pps issues for smaller cases such as the interaction with benefits.

THE DIGITAL WORLD: AN INTRODUCTION TO DIGITAL ASSETS AND MANIPULATION OF DIGITAL DOCUMENTS
This lecture will consider two difference aspects of our new digital world.
It will start with an introduction to digital assets, cryptocurrency and NFTS. Starting at the beginning with the language and concepts, the presentation will then touch on the few relevant cases we have had and then will look at practice points for those who hold digital assets and when they appears on the other party’s Form E.
The talk will also look at how the digital documents and evidence we use can be manipulated. Looking at examples of this, how to check for manipulation and what we can do if we find it.
- The language and concepts of digital assets
- Practice points if your client holds digital assets: valuation and the information you need to disclose
- Practice points of the other client hold digital assets: what to ask in a questionnaire and valuations
- The risks of digital documents manipulation: what are the most common cheats?
- What to look for in a digital document if you are suspicious of manipulation
- Applications you can make, if you find there has been manipulation
