Three years into the 2017 Rating Revaluation and the system is creaking at the edges. With appeal volumes down but a liability that continues to rise, this talk will set the scene on where Rating is at present, changes on the immediate horizon and some thoughts on much needed reform.

Josh Myerson is a Partner and Head of Rating at Montagu Evans, a firm of Chartered Surveyors with offices in London, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh. He provides rating valuation and liability advice to both the Private and Public Sector and has a particular focus on providing advice to Landlords and Developers on rating matters. He is the current Vice President of the Rating Surveyors’ Association (RSA) and will take up the role of President in April 2020. He is also a RICS Rating Diploma Holder (Dip Rating), being one of around 25 active in private practice with this qualification and sits on the Section’s Committee and Education SubCommittee. He also lectures on a number of the Diploma modules. He is member of the VOA’s Strategic Business Rates Advisory Forum, the RICS’s Rating Leaders Forum and regularly assists industry bodies in their interactions with policymakers.
