Level 2 CBCT Reporting Masterclass by Simon Harvey

Course Overview

This is a comprehensive 12 hour CPD hands on training course. It fully complies with European and UK regulations CBCT training for reporting.

This course is designed for dentist wanting to write actionable CBCT reports. The course is based on the latest FGDP “Guidance notes for dental practitioners” CBCT syllabus and the European Academy of DentoMaxilloFacial Radiology. The CBCT course gives 12 hours of verifiable CPD and is delivered with 6 hours hands on (a laptop for each delegate) face to face study day, followed by 5 hours of interpretation exercises (all provided) to complete at home and 1 hour MS teams online meet up to discuss those cases. This teaching format mirrors the training guidance and has been designed to satisfy the current UK training requirements for dentoalveolar CBCT reporting.

Aims and Objectives

1. Recognise anatomy, variants and pathology safely
2. Formulate actionable CBCT reports for small volume / dentoalveolar CBCT scans.
3. Understand the regulatory requirements for CBCT and how to comply with these.

REQUIREMENTS

Delegates should be a dentist (BDS or similar) and have completed level 1 training with us or another provider.

Biography

Led by Simon C Harvey, a Consultant and GDC registered specialist in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology. He is ‘dual qualified’ in medicine (MBBS) and dentistry (BDS) and legally trained (MA, Medical Law). Simon completed specialist training (CCST) in the London Deanery and is a substantive NHS consultant at Queen Victoria Hospital,, Sussex and privately at One Welbeck, London. He sits on advisory panels for The Royal College of Radiologists (RCR), The Medical Defence Union (The MDU) and The Dental Defence Union (The DDU).

His subspecialty clinical interests are dentoalveolar CBCT and maxillofacial interventional radiology. He has written or contributed to four books on these topics and authored more than a dozen peer reviewed journal articles on dental imaging or legal analysis.

He is a passionate educator and has been employed in higher education for 15 years at leading universities including King’s College London, University of Birmingham and University of Sheffield.
