IAN ANDERSON

Ian Anderson is a Senior Director of Planning at Lichfields, the pre-eminent independent planning consultancy in the UK. Before Lichfields, Ian was Head of Planning at both CBRE and Cushman and Wakefield.

He provides strategic and extensive pre-application advice, manages complex planning applications and undertakes high level political engagement and expert witness evidence giving at Public Inquiries and Examinations In Public.

Ian has been an advisor to the Planning Inspectorate and Government Chief Planner, has been a key witness at Common’s Select Committees on Planning and has been to No.10 on two occasions to brief on planning matters. He is a past Associate Tutor at the University College of Estate Management and writes and speaks frequently in the press and media on planning related matters, including interviews with the BBC, Bloomberg news and Radio 4.
