The Coronavirus isn’t just a pernicious disease that has changed our way of life in the short term, it will have a far reaching impact upon our economy, our culture and our way of life in general. But what will the impact be on the Property Market in the UK? Many commentators, including the RICS, have offered views of the possible effect of our current situation on the UK property market.

This presentation will discuss the various views proffered and investigate the possible futures and scenarios that could happen once the Covid 19 crisis has passed. It will look at possible timings, the opportunities and threats of the new tomorrow and whether it will be possible to return to a semblance of normality in all property sectors. The presentation will be a mix of conjecture and scenario planning. It isn’t a crystal ball but a process by which property professionals can plan for a series of possible outcomes.

Learning Objectives

  • An understanding of the possible impact of Covid 19 on different property sectors; residential, retail, offices, logistics, industrial and leisure.
  • An appreciation of the role of scenario planning and the advantages of planning for possible outcomes.
  • Understanding the practical implications of the fallout of the virus on property leasing and management.
  • Recognising the underlying requirements of property ownership in a post Covid 19 world.
